2019 BMW 7 Series India Facelift review.

Author : Sudhanshu Raghav

BMW has launched the all new 2019 7 Series in India. Here are glimpse of this debatable machine among enthusiasts.

Design:

Exterior:

The BMW 7 Series has got a 'facelift' launched in Indian market , and since then the talking point has to be the chrome garnishing all around the body of this limo and ofcourse that grille which has grown noticiably large but one gets used to it , considering the overall design of the car. Competition like Audi , Lexus and Mercedes also got the increase in size in their grille but in case of BMW because of kidney grille design language they stand apart. Chrome inserts are always welcomed with open arms in the  markets of China and America, the 7 Series' largest market, and that is the sole reason 7 Series got this update. Now you got this.

BMW 7 Series has got slimmer headlamps compared to its predecessor which looks more futuristic and scintillating. It also comes with BMWs laserlight trim having blue detailing in the cluster and the high beam range of 560m.

Front bumper is more curvy this time and comes with chrome covered outer air intakes.

From side the massive 3.2m wheelbase certainly makes it class apart with the chrome lining going all the way from front section to the rear end in a very neat and cool manner.

Interior:

From the inside the new 7 series' does not feel as  new as  outside. There are certain elements on the dash which are unique but still  the overall layout of the whole instrument panel was never dated and was upto the mark in terms of competition which has been carried over here very neatly and nice manner. The overall quality of the cabin is top notch, no panel gaps , plush stiched beautiful  leather seats. The car is equipped with the iDrive system which can now be customised with more shortcuts . Graphics are now more clear to operate upon and matches the actual exterior body shade.
Intelligent Assistant is the new highlight of this new 7 Series , basically a voice command system to operate car's features and provide information related to its overall status. It needs to be included that the system is not that fluent with Indian accents.

Coming to the rear section of the car , you will notice how well it is layec out the quality of the materials, the features on offer, the seats will certainly make you fresh and comfortable on longest of long journeys.
The rear seats of the car comes equipped with heated , ventilated, massaging and multi-way adjustible functions to make those longest of long journeys pass with joy. The party trick has to be the adjustment of front passenger seat sliding to the utmost forward position at the touch of a button , a footrest expands out and the seat reclines too for added comfort. On centre armrest there is Samsung tablet to control certain functions like rear seat adjustments like massage functions and so on.

Driving Part:
The new 7 Series feels quiter inside as well as outside compared to its predecessor due to the efforts made by its makers in terms of sound insulation. Engine and tyre noise is lesser now and you will notice some amount of them only on higher speeds or on rough patch of roads, it is that good. Air suspension is adjusted and car is now more planted at higher speeds.

Engine options:

Car comes with a petrol 740i , petrol-hybrid 745Le xDrive and diesel 730Ld. Diesel engine is same 3.0 straight-six , with an updated 8-speed gearbox. The 265bhp of power and 620Nm of torque produced by this motor under the hood clearly shines in terms of straight line aggressive acceleration , pick up the pace linearly despite the fact how heavy this car is and the amount of gizmos it offers. Yes, it is fun if driven enthusiastically and quieter at the same time, it only gets vocal if rpm needle reaches near redline in not so harsh manner.
