Audi e-tron : A Car Straight from the Future

Author: Sudhanshu Raghav

Are you waiting for future? or Are you living in future? Well these are the questions you will ask your soul the moment you see The Audi e-tron. What is so special? Well it is Audi's first attempt at a fully electric SUV , expected to be launched in India by end 2019 or early 2020. So , Yes the future is here  and  the future is right now...

Design:

Exterior:
This first electric car by Audi is well, designed like any other Audi . Sharp body lines, homogeneous face , and ofcourse those day time running lights (DRLs) having the purpose both for safety as well as looks of the car. Larger than Q5 and slightly smaller than Q7 , the e-tron has resemblance to its siblings.

The bold and wide grille of this car with certain sharp elements  and Audi logo in the centre makes it look quite elegant. The e-tron is very neat and Audi has played very safe in terms of looks of this car.

Coming to the side profile of the car the broad shoulder lines with chrome lining going all across the windows and those shiny big rims clearly outshine this car and makes it look more fresh and modern. However, the highlight of this car has to be those Virtual Mirrors , which clearly make this car stand apart. This technology replaces conventional mirrors with smaller cameras and door mounted interior displays, designed to make the car more aero-dynamic and ease of looking What's behind.

"The virtual exterior mirror stands for the departure into a new generation of vehicle development."
Moni Islam (In-charge of aerodynamics developments at Audi).

The rear end of the car is quite subtle but Audi has introduced the party trick here as well - "The rear tail lights." going all the way from one end to the other looks bling. The Thor hammer shaped tail lights at each end having number of LED linings in them with beautiful pattern clearly outshine this car. The spoiler and skid plates gives the car bold and mascular look

Interior:

Step inside the cabin of the e-tron and you will very plush and modern

dashboard which is being used in latest Audi's line-up. The high tech infotainment system features three big screens with sharp and clear to use graphics. Though some people might find  difficult to use while driving and it ruin the experience ,but the number of features of they offer with minimal lag in touch response makes them quite likeable and futuristic to use. The quality of materials used inside the cabin is top notch and lining on the dashboard , fit and finish centre console feels tightly put together and promise to last longer. Coming to the rear seats , the cabin feels airy and roomy with great visibility outside and can accomodate three passengers. The headroom and legroom is generous and not something to worry about. The Audi e-tron has a huge boot with well laid out aparture for easy access and spacious enough like A6 and A8.
